BATON ROUGE, La. — John Georges shared his tales of a serial entrepreneur at a business series breakfast Tuesday morning.
Georges has many successful business ventures under his belt, including Galatoire’s and The Advocate, but he shared his experience of turning a company founded by his immigrant father into a billion-dollar corporation.
It was all part of Baton Rouge Entrepreneurship Week.
“What we hope most of all is, especially the young crowd, is that we inspire them to become entrepreneurs, as well as how as existing entrepreneurs and existing business owners learn something new,” said Robin Kistler with LSU Stephenson Entrepreneurship Institute.
LSU has two other events planned for Tuesday afternoon, including a student pitch competition. There will also be a panel discussion with entrepreneurs and other business owners. They will talk about the challenges and opportunities of the times.
